After last night's bad news, I've been sticking to the mundane today - yoga, errands, a hike, a swim, a visit with my sister-in-law. There's been crying, but there have been some good moments too. My other mundane task of the day was yoga mat hygiene. I cleaned and wiped down a few of my mats. Nothing like practicing on a fresh yoga mat.
According to a recent article, dirty yoga mats are leading to plantar warts and athlete's foot. Hmmmmm...infections are definitely not on the list of "what I gain from my yoga practice." Frankly, I've never rented a mat at a studio. I always bring my own. Still, germs could lurk on your very own mat if you don't clean it.
