Today is what I like to call a mixed-bag Monday. That means that I've found a bunch of fun, cool stuff that I wanted to share. So without further ado, let the fun begin:
- For all of your iPhone/iPod Touch fans, the folks at Oceanhouse Media have brought the soothing sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls to the palm of your hand. Bowls is an inexpensive downloadable app that offers 7 chakra-tuned bowls and the technology to swirl your finger around the rim of the bowl to create beautiful sounds. Nifty, eh? I have some bowls at home but this technological clone sounds like the real thing. Click here to watch a demo. Trust me, you'll be impressed. You can buy the Bowls app here. Have fun making beautiful music and opening your chakras at the same time!
- Spring is often described as a time of change and rebirth. If you're ready to stoke the fires of transformation, the folks over at The Chopra Center are offering a free guided meditation to do just that. You can listen and download this Fire of Transformation meditation here.
- If you've ever walked a labyrinth, you know how relaxing and wonderful it is. Well, now you can walk a labyrinth on your computer. That's right -- the folks over at gratefulness.org have a wonderful virtual labyrinth on their site. Now you can get that meditative calm with a few moves of your mouse. Click here to walk the virtual labyrinth.
- Another mindfulness practice is the mindfulness bell. There are stories of Thich Nhat Hahn talking about his experiences of pausing for an "awareness break" at the chime of the mindfulness bell. You can do this yourself with the help of the Mindful Clock program. Simply download it to your computer, chose your chime preference, and the chime interval and viola -- a melodious mindfulness reminder right on your desktop. I suggest making each chime an opportunity to get in touch with your five senses. At the time of the bell, stop what you're doing and notice what you're seeing, hearing, tasting, feeling, and smelling. My chime sounds every hour and I just love taking this awareness break. Download the Mindful Clock program here.
- Calling all John Coltrane fans -- John and his wife Alice were quite spiritual and this wonderful find on YouTube follows the late Alice Coltrane on one of her trips to Bombay. Click here to take part in Alice's wonderful journey.
- If you're not a fan of Botox like me, you can turn to yoga for facial rejuvenation. Bon Jovi chant yogini Sadie Nardini just posted a great little video on YouTube that will help you reduce wrinkles, eye strain, and headaches. Click here to watch.
- Curious about Open Source Yoga? Click here to learn more about it and to participate.
- The folks over at Time recently featured an article on yoga therapy. Click here to read it. As someone who is certified in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, I was a bit surprised that the fact checkers missed the error regarding the location of Phoenix Rising. They haven't been headquartered in Western MA for quite some time -- they've been in Bristol, VT for a few years now. Oh well, inaccurate press is better than no press, I suppose.
That's it for the fun links of the day. Enjoy!
Namaste!

,
Great question John! I'm sorry to say that I'm unaware of whether or not such a resource exists. I'm sure it does -- I just don't know about it. I'll keep my eyes pealed and let you know if I find anything.

Hi
does anyone know of a mindfulness reminder clock that can be downloaded which is visual and not auditory? I don't want bells going off in the office which I share with 12 others.
thanks,
