"Art is a lie that makes us realize truth." --Pablo Picasso
Fellow yogi John Calabria turned me onto an amazing artist and musician (and yogi, of course) -- Aaron Jones. Check out his video below:
What I love about this video (besides the awesome music that accompanies it) is how Aaron challenges us to see something new where there was once something else. To me, this is a central theme of yoga. We practice yoga to clear our mind and see something in a different way -- the way it is rather than something that has been colored by our perceptions, prejudices, memories, past experiences. The transformation is just beautiful to watch.
Aaron offers yoga portraits and accepts commissions, so you can beautify your surroundings with his talent. Click here for more info.
Namaste!

Wow, this is beautiful!Thank you for posting this. And I have to second the reason for practicing yoga..."to see something in a different way..."
So true!

This is a great video with great music. When I am practicing yoga, I love listening to Zera Vaughan's "The New Seed." The rhythmic patterns of the songs and the simplicity of the lyrics makes it easy for me to clear my mind and focus on my poses. I downloaded her album on iTunes. You should give her a listen.

I like your description of a common theme of Yoga:
"We practice yoga to clear our mind and see something in a different way -- the way it is..."
Exactly!
Interesting video, too.
